The MRCCC is collaborating with a wide range of groups and individuals to host Mary River month in the Mary River Catchment.
The month of watery activities starts with the Big Jump, where people are encouraged to jump into the Mary or their local creek at 3 pm on World Rivers Day, Sunday 27th September.
The calendar of activities throughout the catchment includes Bushcare Working Bees, frog monitoring, two water quality monitoring catchment crawls, an upper and lower Mary Bus tour, a River Listening tour, a land for wildlife river walk, and the MRCCC’s Annual General Meeting in Gympie.
The MRCCC is also hosting a photography competition, seeking entries which capture the spirit of Spring in the Mary Catchment.
Mary River Month culminates with the Mary River Festival at Kandanga on Saturday 14th November, where entries from the photo competition will be displayed and the winners announced.
