2020 MRCCC AGM and Annual Report
The MRCCC’s AGM was held during National Water Week on Wednesday 21st October 2020 at the Munna Creek Hall . Delegates and guests heard reports from
Chairman Ian Mackay and MRCCC Project Officers about the work of the organisation over the past year. Read all about it in this year’s Annual Report. Click on the link to download a copy.
After the AGM, delegates and guests visited Home Park, the property of MRCCC Waterwatch delegate Garth Jacobson. The Mary River flows through the property, and on the sandy banks of the river, Mary River turtles come up after rain to make a nest and lay their eggs. Down at the river, Tiaro Landcare’s Marilyn Connell gave a very informative presentation about the Mary River turtle, including a demonstration of where and how the nest is made and the eggs are laid. Volunteers from Tiaro Landcare then work to protect the turtle nests from predators including foxes, wild dogs, goannas etc. Click on the link for more information about the Mary River turtle.
