Dates with Mary 2020
The MRCCC’s 2020 meeting calendar is now available to download featuring some of the stunning images from the 2019 Spring in the Mary photo competition!
All of the General Meetings in 2020 are being held on a Wednesday morning, mostly at the Albert Bowls Club in Gympie with the following exceptions.
On Wednesday 6th May General Meeting 208 will be held in the Kenilworth area to coincide with the Reef Forum which will be visiting some of the major project sites in the area on that day. MRCCC delegates and guests will join with Reef Forum visitors over lunch, then view a major riverbank rehabilitation project on the Mary River. Coach transport will be provided for MRCCC delegates and guests from Gympie and return.
On Wednesday 5th August General Meeting 210 will be held at the Gundiah Hall, followed by a visit to Owen and Lynda Thompson’s Goorah property at Mt Urah, where gully erosion control works have been undertake to stop erosion and reduce the amount of sediment flowing into the Mary River. Coach transport will also be provided for MRCCC delegates and guests from Gympie and return for this meeting.
Guest Speaker for General Meeting 207 on Wednesday 18th March will be Mike Day from Queensland Primary Industries and Fisheries who will give a presentation on the use of Biocontrol Agents in the Mary River Catchment to control weeds.
Guest Speaker for General Meeting 211 on the 16th September will be Brian Latcham from the Department of Natural Resources Mines and Energy who will give a presentation on the research they have undertaken in relation to groundwater and it’s impact on surface water flows in the Mary River catchment.
